Day 14. Border Village to Nullarbor roadhouse (92 miles)
Headwind all day so a bit of driving ahead and Dermot cycling back to make it more bearable! He still clocked up a mighty 92 miles ( not bad for an old guy!!!!)
Lots of warning signs about ....
Do I risk taking a shower here???
Do I risk taking a shower here???
All in a day!!! Camels, wombats and kangaroos!!!
It was a very long and boring stretch today apart from a few sea/cliff views in the first bit.
The old Telegraph Station in the sand . (Yesterday)
We are in our camper at Nullarbor roadhouse camping ground for the night. We had to put our watches on by 2 hours and 15 minutes on arrival so we are in a new time zone. Now 3 hours ahead of Perth and 10 and a half hours ahead of UK. It has been bright by 6 am but now it will be nearer to 8am. The campground is a huge open car park behind the motel and the toilet block is far away. There is absolutely no shelter.
The Nullarbor golf course which is the longest in the world , has one hole to be played at each roadhouse and they are about 100 or more miles apart!
Looks a very hostile environment. Wouldn’t want to be a golfer in the Nullarbor would ya
