prep time

We have hired our camper from Motorhome Republic. Its an Awesome Deluxe camper!!! We pick it up on Monday 4th March from Perth and return it to Sydney on Wednesday 3rd April. The cost is AU$ 2093.44 
I just hope it lives up to its name!

Day 32 Cowra to Bathurst (65 miles)

Awake very early and all ready to go but waiting for the phone call from the bike man.by 9am he told us to come as it was ready so off we set for his house and workshop. All that remains of the original bike is just about the saddle!!! He changed the crank, sprockets, cables, wheel bearings and chain. He straightened the things that needed straightening !He assured Dermot that it will see him out ( more than 2 days I hope!!!)  At 9.30 Dermot was on the road again with a day of enormous hills ahead of him plus an east wind! (We are heading east)   The scenery was lovely as we are now going through the Blue Mountains thought it’s a bit chilly! The signpost said 199 km to Sydney..... so close now! I passed a kangaroo today who was going to run across in front of me and at the last minute he changed his mind! Hopefully he’s still bouncing around as the roads now are VERY busy! Tomorrow we expect more huge mountains to cross before we reach thd outskirts of Sydney and then it...

Day 18. (0 miles) Ceduna

Yay!!!! A day off! Ceduna is a very nice place to stop off. We started with a long walk before breakfast (we can’t sleep in!!!)  Then checked out the town and the fantastic supermarket!!! Fresh granary bread, lots of fruit..... what luxuries!!!! Had a spot of sunbathing by our motel pool then a picnic lunch with last nights leftovers and fresh bread. A bit later a swim in the sea. There is a sea pool far out along the jetty in deep water . It’s surrounded by a shark net but as it was high tide we were a bit afraid a shark might get in over!! Still we had a lovely swim ! ( perfect water temp.) We went to the Breakfast! Smashed avo and the works! same bar/ restaurant for drinks and dinner and again it was superb! Back in our motel now and its bedtime. Back on the road tomorrow! A train passing by on our early morning walk. The netted pool is far out on the right. There is a ramp and ladder off the jetty.

Day 6 Coolgardie to Norseman (73 miles cycled)

Dermot set off early (as usual) and we met up at Widgiemoolta nearly 50 miles later. There was a good roadside restaurant, wifi etc There were also very reasonable rooms but it was too soon to stop. We asked if there were any vacancies and were told there was one room left at 80 aud . Its a popular stopover due to all the nearby mines. Dermot carried on cycling and I met him every 10 to 20 k to see how he was and replenish his supplies. About 60 k before Norseman he’d had enough. It was very hot and the road was long and straight and monotonous. As there was nowhere safe to pull in for the night he took a lift to Norseman and I will drive him back to that spot in the morning to take up where he left off. We booked into a motel in Norseman , the cheapest so far and breakfast included!!!! A beer or two later and off to the pub for food.It was very busy as the races were on. There was a slight hiccup as all the horses had been returned to Perth so they raced their children instead!...
